Andersen Karting Is Looking for Titles
And Qualifying Spots
As Summer Winds Down

PALMETTO, Fla., Sept. 1
- Wes Phillips, Andersen Racing's director of
competition karting, is securely in a qualifying position to represent Team USA
in the DD2 class at the Rotax World Final in La Conca, Italy in November
following the fifth and sixth rounds of the Pan American Rotax Max Challenge at
the Karting Center at Homestead Miami Speedway Aug. 20-22.

Another Andersen Racing karter, Andy Dunne of Westmont, Ill., did not have
the results he hoped for at Homestead but he may still qualify for the World
Final in the Rotax Senior Max class with better luck at the Pan Am
Championship's final round Oct. 1-3 at CalSpeed Karting Center at Auto Club Speedway
in Fontana, Calif.

Phillips tested an Arrow chassis at Homestead and won both of his main
events.

"I was still getting used to the Arrow chassis and I must admit that it was
a handful on Saturday," said Phillips, a Californian now living in
Bradenton, Fla. After a consultation with Eric Jones of KartSport North America he
qualified second on Sunday, just 0.018 of a second off the pole; finished
second in the pre-final, and again won the main event.

"Working with Eric Jones was a big bonus for Sunday's results," Phillips
said. "The chassis was smooth and easy to drive, and could have been driven
another 100 laps without much effort from me."

Dunne stuck with his trusty 2010 Birel RY30-S2 with a Swedetech-powered
FR-125 Max engine at Homestead. The 16-year-old driver was fourth fastest in
practice on Saturday and qualified ninth. In the 15-lap pre-final he moved up
from ninth to sixth, where he started in the final later that day.
Unfortunately he dropped out of that race around the halfway point after contact
with another competitor caused his rear bumper to come loose.

On Sunday he was third in the morning warm-up and qualified fourth. He was
involved in an accident at the start of the pre-final that destroyed his
kart's radiator, forcing him to start 13th in the 23-lap final, but he
rebounded to finish seventh.

"It was a little disappointing for both me and Andersen Karting, but I was
able to make up enough points to be tied for second spot in the
championship," Dunne said. "It will be important to be focused at the final round of
the series in California in October to ensure a finish in the top two for the
championship, securing a spot to the Rotax Grand Finals in Italy this
November. I would like to thank Andersen Racing, Wes Phillips and Jake Mottaz for
all their help at Homestead."

Andersen Karting's regional karting team had great success at the final
round of the Florida Karting Championship Series (FKCS) at Monticello Karting
and Motor Club in Monticello, Fla., last weekend.

Jacob Duvall of Neptune Beach, Fla. won both the TaG Senior Championship
and the Rotax Senior Championship for the team in this important series.
Duvall also swept TaG Senior on Sunday, qualifying first and finishing first in
both the pre-final and final.

"For the final in TaG Senior, Andersen Racing drivers started first, third
and fifth," Phillips reported. "Austin Miles and Michael Melancon both spun
due to contact from behind, but Jacob Duvall was able to continue from the
pole position for the victory."

Melancon, of Atlantic Beach, Fla., won his first major race as a senior
driver in Rotax Senior at Monticello after qualifying first and finishing first
in the pre-final, sweeping the weekend.

Another Andersen Racing karter, Kyle Andersen, qualified tenth in a class
of 22 Cadet Komer K80 karts and was running in seventh in the final until he
had to avoid an accident ahead of him, causing damage to his kart and
ultimately stopping his race prematurely.

Other karters working under the Andersen Racing canopies last weekend
included Jacob Mottaz of Bradenton, Fla. (TaG Senior); Michael McCarthy of
Clearwater, Fla. (Rotax Mini Max); Mitchell St. Cin of St. Petersburg, Fla. (Rotax
Mini Max) and Xia Fan of Shanghai, China (Rotax Mini Max).
